On my arrival at Cheddleton I caught a shot of GWR Prairie tank loco no 5199 reversing through the station.

Stanier Black 5 no 45231 has arrived at Consall station with the 10.10am from Kingsley & Froghall

Making a superb sight 45231 begins its departure from Consall...

...and passes the Black Lion pub... Hot Coffee was being served and was badly needed in the cold weather.

The USA 4-6-2 no 5197 climbs away from Consall with the 11.05 from Kingsley & Froghall

The 2-car DMU heads past with the 11.25 from Oakamoor to Holyhead? The driver gives us a cheery wave.

After a quick turnaround the DMU returns southbound with the 11.52 from Consall

Fowler 4F 0-6-0 44422 double-heads with the 0-6-0 Jinty 47279 with the 12.00noon departure from Kingsley & Froghall.

Kingsley & Froghall's traditional means of employment was at this now abandoned foundry. Sadly it is now rotting away. The ghosts of former employees watched as 5199 hauled the 1pm departure from Kingsley & Froghall.... NB.Don't eat the yellow snow!

After its banking duty 45231 dropped back down to Kingsley & Froghall

Another young railway volunteer was responsible for the hand operated points to the north of the station.

After 'Ringhaw' arrived bunker first with its train 45231 moved through on the run around and provided me with a fine portrait.

I pointed out to my new found friend that the team of hi-viz clad reprobates up the embankment were spys from the SVR at Bewdley. Closer shots of these lads can be seen on my earlier collection of 45110 being cleaned. So who's the best SVR or CVR? There's only one way to find out.... FIGHT!

45231 stands at the head of the 2pm at the superbly restored Kingsley & Froghall station while the DMU stands to the far end of platform 2.

Converted to B&W to mask the hi-viz jacketsthe DMU awaits its next duty.

This was my first chance to see this newly restored platform. It hangs over the adjacent river in a very similar fashion to Consall.

At Cheddleton the clouds have built up as 45231 departs southbound with the 3.32pm from Leekbrook Junction.

The USA 4-6-0 no 5197 was providing entertainment at Cheddleton station with footplate rides.

As we walked the line from Cheddleton station we saw a couple of familiar faces on the embankment. It was Graham & Gordon of GB Productions no less. Read the review of their latest double DVD featuring the NYMR in Steam Railway mag this month. Jinty 47279 pilots 44422 hauling the 4pm from Kingsley & Froghall ....
