After the arrival of 'the freight' from Bridgnorth hauled by 5029 Nunney Castle again it was the turn of A4 Pacific 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley to propel the stock into the Stourport branch siding. Fireman for the day Steve (aka Ron) looks out from the cab.

The weather was a repeat of the previous day. The first passenger service from Kidderminster hauled by 71000 Duke of Gloucester approaches Bewdley in full dull conditions. A pleasant change was to see The Welsh Marches Express headboard

With increasingly heavy rain falling I headed back to the station to find 60007 Sir Nigel gresley at the platform for passengers to take a close look.

Prairie tank no 5164 arrives at Bewdley in the rain with the 9.50am from Bridgnorth

After sheltering under the umbrella provided by Dave Bridges I caught this shot of the departure of 5164 towards Kidderminster.

I was close to abandoning at this point but decided to persevere and headed north. After failing to find a parking space at Highley due to in excess of 100 ramblers taking all the car park spaces I continued north to Eardington Bank. Here 71000 passes the crossing with the 12.15 from Bridgnorth

From the other side of the crossing I caught this shot of 60007 with the 11.35 from Kidderminster

From the top of the bridge 7812 Erlestoke Manor descends from the 210ft summit of Eardington bank with the 13.05 from Bridgnorth

70013 Oliver Cromwell makes a fine sight passing the crossing with the 12.20 ex Kidderminster

The final train to pass at the crossing was 60007 and the Gresley teak carriages with the 13.55 from Bridgnorth. It was carrying a 'Cock 'o the North' headboard

After a further move northwards I reached the area near daniels Mill and Oldbury viaduct. Here 70013 passes with the 14.45 ex Bridgnorth...

...and heads away over the viaduct... However blue sky was becoming visible at last

71000 Duke of Gloucester has crossed Oldbury viaduct on the final approach to bridgnorth with the 14.05 from Kidderminster

The classic shot of Oldbury viaduct and this time with sunshine. 5029 Nunney Castle slowly takes the 15.35 Limited dining train over Oldbury viaduct with the Ivatt mogul 46443 coupled on the rear. This loco was required for steam heating the carriages when 5029 hauled the train from Kidderminster as there are no forward facing steam pipe connections on the loco

After a drive down the valley i reached Bewdley well ahaead of the 'Limited's' arrival. 5029 is seen with the token exchange at the north end of the station

A study of 5029 Nunney Castle

With 5029 Nunney Castle awaiting the road ahead 70013 Oliver Cromwell has arrived with the 16.35 from Kidderminster and rather annoyingly takes the route across to platform 3.

GWR Castle Class no 5029 Nunney Castle departs Bewdley with the 15.35 'Limited' dining service. Unfortunately the driver felt it necessary to open the drain cocks while a battery of fotters were lined up to take the shot.

After providing steam heating support for the 'Limited' dining train 46443 has arrived light engine back at The Rock for disposal

The fire is dropped from the Ivatt Mogul 46443

After the fire was dropped 46443 was moved under its last remaining steam along the line where it was allowed to cool down.
