1st Class trip to London
1st April 2009

Having been invited to attend the Livery Dinner of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers at The Clothworkers Hall in the City of London I felt 1st Class travel to the event was the only way to go. Very Impressive.

Also witnessed were some of the demonstrations against virtually everything at Piccadilly Circus, the Picasso Exhibition at The National Gallery and a view of Wembley stadium from the train as England was beating Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier.

 With President Obama having flown into Stansted airport for the G20 Summit security at all the embassies appeared tight. I certainly felt under scrutiny when I raised my camera as I walked out of Hyde Park towards Knightsbridge.

 I recall seeing Euston in the 60's when it was first opened and thinking how grand it looked. Now the flooring is wearing out, crowds stand around all the time waiting for their train to be announced and the space now appears a cluttered mess with so many shops, cafes and cabins. Bad Planning!
