... and ex GWR 0-6-2 tank loco no 5619

City of Truro awaits a top up of coal before commencing duties.

5619 takes water at Toddington. A huge water tank that was standing on its side outside the works will soon be installed adjacent to the footbridge at Toddington on the original foundations. The original water pipes have also been located that will be service two new water columns at each end of the station. This water tank will then be relocated.

5619 has coupled to the stock and awaits the signal to depart. Time for me to move on...

My first shot of 5619 was taken at Didbrook.....

... after a rapid drive I captured a shot of the train crossing the road after Chicken Curve on the approach to Winchcombe...

... a third shot was captured of 5619 on the departure from Winchcombe. I'd legged it along the embankment for this one....

... and finally 5619 heads away towards Greet tunnel.

At Winchcombe development work has commenced on the construction of a waiting room/store on the far platform. The foundations only took a week to install once work had started. See the plans later on in the collection.

To the rear of the Winchcombe signalbox a site meeting was taking place. This area has been a bit of a dumping ground for railway equiment but it is now to be used as an extension to the sidings to the rear of the carriage works for additional stock purchases.
