Steel, Steam & Stars II at Llangollen.
18th April 2009

A visit to the Llangollen Railway for the Mega (their word) 9 day gala.
I was accompanied by Ace fotter Brian Burrows who's photos will no doubt be far better than mine.....

Star for today for me simply has to be the sight of 46100 Royal Scot for the first time in 45 years! I was very much against the Crimson lake livery and had vowed to convert all images to b&w in protest but I cannot do it. The loco looks superb in Crimson Lake.

I vowed to always convert images of Royal Scot to Black & White on the basis that it should NOT be in Crimson Lake... Maybe I'm softening... just a bit

46100 Royal Scot slowly climbs Camden Bank away from Euston with The Royal Scot - well we can dream can't we? (BTW this was taken through the very dirty rear window of the observation carriage and into the sun... I'm quite pleased with the end result after all the work I had to do on it!)
