Duchess of Hamilton
16th May 2009

My Congratulations to Bob Meanley and the Tyseley Locomotive Works staff on the completion of the re-streamlining of LMS Coronation Pacific no 6229 Duchess of Hamilton. It is a remarkeable achievement and fills a huge void in the history of steam lcomotive development. Now when is it's first steaming date?

Betcha thought there were more recent pics here!! Gotcha.

Sir William Stanier's masterpiece 4-6-2 Coronation Pacific no 46229 Duchess of Hamilton photographed in about 1977 at York's then brand new National Railway Museum. I found it quite a sad place to see so many stuffed and mounted locomotives in locations that were not conducive to clean photos.
