4953 Pitchford Hall gets further polishing while standing coupled to 60163 Tornado

Michael was cleaning the Pitchford Hall nameplate.

The reason for using the cylinder drain cocks is clearly evident in this shot. By the way I was told by the chap cleaning the smokebox door straps on 60163 that the chime whistle is an original from A4 Pacific Sea Eagle.

The Bloomer Project plods on....

There was a smoky atmosphere inside the works after the Peckett saddletank had moved through. Work has started on 4965 Rood Ashton Hall's 10 year overhaul. GWR Pannier tank no 7760 stands behind.

Alastair Meanley brings the Peckett 0-4-0 out of the loco works hauling the Prairie tank loco no 4110....

...but time and time again the loco simply slipped. I tried using a slow shutter speed to capture the slip here...

5029 Nunney castle lay outside the north end of the works for most of the day.

I still have wonderful memories of seeing 45543 Home Guard and 45550 on my home line between Preston & Liverpool in the early 1960's. I do hope I get to see the new build before i depart this life.

I'd observed this chap taking photos and wanted to record a shot of his camera(s). He was taking two images simultaneously using identical cameras. He told me he then processed the image using software called Sirius. (I recall) I wonder what the effect is like...
